Emily Irene VanCamp originally wanted to be a professional ballet dancer. After watching her sister Katie on the Ladies Room movie set, Emily began to be interested in acting. The acting profession began after she began taking classes. Also, she got guest spots on shows from her home country of Canada. She's appeared on a variety of shows, including Are You Scared of the Dark? Radio Active, Dice. VanCamp made a breakthrough in his career after he was cast on the WB horror-mystery show Glory Days as Sam Dolan. Although the show received positive review, the show's low ratings caused it to be cancelled after just nine episodes. However, she was successful in landing a second role as Amy Abbott on Everwood. She was a finalist to win four Teen Choice Awards and a Young Artist Award.
